Pictures with a Personal Touch

I am not an artist and I do not regard myself as one. But from time to time there is a picture that challenges me to do something with it that is a little bit out of one's comfort zone, often in black and white or with very little color. The picture of a Red-billed Chough we saw on Jersey is a typical example. The birds were flying in and out of a dark ravine. On the original picture as taken by the camera the rock was all black, with no structure and hardly any visibility. To spot the birds was very difficult.
